 Abha Chauhan is a Professor of Sociology at the University of Jammu, Jammu and Kashmir, India. She has been the Head of the Department of         Sociology for nearly ten years and has also worked as the Director of Dr. Ambedkar Studies Centre; Convenor, Board of Studies (Sociology);   Coordinator, Directorate of Distance Education (Sociology) and Convener, Editorial Board and Editor of the University Journal. Her research interests include gender, tribal and community studies, kinship, marriage, Sociology of religion and culture, conflict, and borderland studies. She has published/edited five books as well as published several articles in national and international books and journals on the related themes. She has almost 30 years of teaching experience and 26 candidates have been awarded Ph. D. under her supervision, besides 35 M.Phil scholars. Prof. Abha Chauhan has been a Life Member of the Indian Sociological Society (ISS) since 1986. She has regularly attended the conferences of the ISS and International Sociological Association (ISA). She was the Managing Committee (MC) Member of the Indian Sociological Society (2002- 2007), member of the Editorial Advisory Committee, ISS (2010-11), and Convenor Research Committee (RC) 10 ‘Gender Studies’, (2011-2014) of the ISS. She was elected as the Secretary of the Indian Sociological Society for the years 2016 - 2017.

Shruti Tambe is currently working as Professor and Head at the Department of Sociology, Savitribai Phule University, Pune. She also serves as Director of the Euroculture Programme sponsored by Erasmus Mundus at the Savitribai Phule, Pune University, Pune.

Since 2000, she is an active member of the International Sociological Association and especially an active member of RC 47 and RC 32, at present, she is the Editor of the Newsletter of RC 47 and a member of their board. At the Regional Association level, she has served as a Member of the Managing Committee of the Marathi Samajshastra Parishad in Maharashtra, and she has also served as Editor, Marathi Samajshastra Sanshodhan Patrika for three years. She was on the editorial board of the Newsletter of the Indian Sociological Society. Arvinder A Ansari is the founder convener of RC-26, Minority Studies of Indian Sociological Society and is currently serving as Head, Department of Sociology, Jamia Millia Islamia,(Central University), New Delhi. In her distinguished academic career of more than twenty years in Jamia Millia Islamia, she has taught postgraduate and undergraduate students and supervised several Ph.D. students. Her interest areas are Sociology of Gender,  Cultural studies, Sociology of violence, Sociology of Ethnicity & Minority Studies, and  Globalization studies. She has authored/co-authored/edited several books, and her articles have been published in national and international peer-reviewed journals. Manish Thakur is Professor at the Public Policy and Management Group, Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, Kolkata. Previously, he was a lecturer in sociology at Goa University (1997-2007) and a fellow at the Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla (2011-13). He has published more than thirty research papers in professional journals and edited volumes. He has also authored/edited three books - Indian Village: A Conceptual History (2014), The Quest for Indian Sociology: Radhakamal Mukerjee and Our Times (2014), and Management Education in India: Perspectives and Practices (co-edited, 2017). His published research deals with aspects of water resources management, rural development knowledge institutions and discourses, research-policy interface, political culture, place of sociology in management education, social movements, intellectual history, and indigenous theories. His areas of research interest are rural-agrarian sociology, economic sociology, and disciplinary practices. Dr. Thakur is the recipient of three prestigious awards – Dr. V.K.R.V. Rao Award in Social Sciences (Sociology) 2014 (Institute of Social and Economic Change, Bengaluru and Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi, Prof. M. N. Sanjay Tewari is a Law & Science Graduate, a PG in Sociology and MBA with specialization in HR, all First Division and Grade A, a UGC NET Fellow in Sociology, and a Ph.D. in Sociology. Born in the year 1967, Dr. Sanjay is a Director with the UP Athletics Association & a State Coordinator of the IAAF Kid’s Athletics Program. He is a vivid Sportsperson and Sports Official, having officiated at many international games. He is credited with establishing Sports Sociology in India, as also within the ISS. Dr. Sanjay is further credited with making Sports Sociology inducted into the Scheme of HRD with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. His research interests are Sociology of Sports, Sociology of Leisure, Sociology of Health & Sociocybernetics. Dr. Sanjay, apart from being an old Member of the International Sociological Association (ISA), is also the sole Member from India of the International Sports Sociology Association. Shweta Prasad completed her higher education at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, and joined teaching in 2000. She is actively engaged in research in the areas of Women and globalization, Corporate Social Responsibility and Women Empowerment, Violence against women, International migration of women and their marginalization, various aspects of the Women-Technology interface including women in call centers, and the empowerment/ impoverishment of women due to the application of new agricultural technologies.
She has received the "Leadership Training Award for Asian Women in Agriculture R&D" at the International Rice Research Institute, Philippines. Simultaneously, she led the social science component of the project "Cereal Systems Initiative for South Asia" (Objective 6.2)- an International project in collaboration with the IRRI, Philippines funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the World Bank, and the USAID in the eastern UP hub. She also received the UGC- Research Award (2014-16) for working on CSR and women empowerment. Earlier, she completed a UGC major research project on Women Call Centre employees. She had also completed two pioneering short-term projects at the Centre for Women's Studies and Development, FSS, BHU on Female Foeticide and Domestic Violence. In the recent past, she is working with faculties from Michigan State University, USA, and the Institute of Agricultural Sciences, BHU towards establishing a Gender Responsive Agriculture for Development center at the Banaras Hindu University.

Gayatri Bhattacharya joined the profession of teaching and conducting research in Sociology in 1980, Prof.Bhattacharyya retired as a professor of Sociology from the University of Calcutta in 2017. She takes a special interest in the study of Indian Sociology and in the Sociology of Social Movements. Many of her publications, including books authored by her, have dealt with these topics among others. She has been the convenor of RC-17 for numerous years and has delivered the first D.K. Banerjee Memorial Lecture on agrarian relations in India.

She is currently engaged in completing my books on Indian Sociology and a textbook for the course of Nursing. She is also in the process of authoring a book on Indian Sociology in Bengali. As a member of the managing committee, she would like to bridge the distance between teachers and students of urban centers of Sociology with those of the remote rural areas to the best of her ability. She would also like to resuscitate the West Bengal chapter of the ISS and its journal, which could not be published for the dearth of funds. She hopes to coordinate and work with colleagues at the ISS to further develop Sociology.

Dr. P. S. Vivek has been a Professor of Sociology at the University of Mumbai. He has 34 years of experience in teaching and research in India and abroad. He has guided several doctoral scholars for their Ph.D degree. He has earned expertise in several areas of Sociological research: Rururban Studies, Occupational sociology, Visual Sociology, Sociology of Garbage and Waste, and Sociology of Spitting. Currently, he is involved in two major research projects: “A study of Sociology of ‘Public Spitting’ in Asia” & “Role of Taxi Trade in Mega-cities with special reference to Mumbai”. Dr. Tattwamasi Paltasingh is at present working as Professor, P.G Department of Sociology, Sambalpur University, Odisha. Prior to her present position she has served as a faculty at Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) Mumbai and at Sardar Patel Institute of Economic and Social Research (SPIESR), Ahmedabad.
