Memorandum of Association

1. The name of the Society shall be “Indian Sociological Society”.

The office of the Society, initially located in Mumbai, is now located in Delhi and it may be relocated in any place in India as is convenient for the Society to function.

3. The purposes for which the Society is established are as follows:

To pursue and promote the study of sociology and sociological problems.
To disseminate knowledge through lectures, publications and such other means bearing on social and sociological problems.
To conduct and publish at least two issues per year of Journals like Sociological Bulletin, Bharatiya Samajshastra Sameeksha, EJournal & E-Newsletter.

To publish brochures, newsletters and books to achieve the above ends.

To hold conferences, including sessions of Research Committees, and organize Memorial Lectures for disseminating knowledge on various fields of the discipline in furtherance of the above.
