The Indian Sociological Society successfully completed the project on the Diamond Jubilee Volumes. In all, there are seven volumes under the series ‘Studies in Indian Sociology’. Shri M. Hamid Ansari, Hon’ble Vice-President of India released the volumes at the inaugural function of the 37th All India Sociological Conference hosted by the Centre for the Study of Social Systems, School of Social Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi on 10 December 2011 in the presence of Prof. S. K. Sopory, Vice-Chancellor, JNU and Prof. Jacob John Kattakayam, Editor of the Diamond Jubilee Volumes and President, Indian Sociological Society There has been an enthusiastic response from students, teachers and researchers who have found the volumes very useful.
