Dr. Alok Kumar Meena is currently working as Associate Professor and Head, Department of Sociology, Sanatan Dharam Government College Beawar, affiliated to M.D.S. University (Ajmer) Rajasthan. He received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Rajasthan (1995), Post-Graduation in Sociology (1997) M. Phil (1999), Ph.D. in Sociology (2011) from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, and Post-Doctorate (2013-2015) from ICSSR, New Delhi. He has an experience of teaching for more than 23 years and administrative experience as an Additional Director, Centre for Social Defense and Gender Studies, Sardar Patel University of Police, Crime and Social Justice, Jodhpur (Rajasthan). He has published 23 research papers in reputed journals/edited books and authored/edited 8 books his areas of specialization are Prison studies, Tribal studies, and Gender studies. He has completed two research projects funded by UGC and UNICEF. He is a life member of several academic and professional bodies (Indian Sociological Society, Indian Society of Criminology, Indian Society of Gandhian Studies, Association for Development of Teaching, Education and Learning, NWISA, Rajasthan Sociological Association and also founder General Secretary of Social Science and Humanities Association (SSHA). He has organized 3 International Conferences, 3 National Conferences, 4 Human Rights Training Programmes (sponsored by NHRC), 1 Capacity Building Training Programme (ICSSR), 8 workshop/ training programs/ certificate courses for academicians and police personnel.
