Amitash Ojha (b. April 29, 1980) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Indian Institute of Technology Jammu, where he also serves as Head of Department and Associate Dean of External Programs. He holds a PhD in Cognitive Science from the International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad, with a specialization in visual metaphors and creativity.

Over the past decade, Dr. Ojha has held research and teaching positions internationally, including at the University of Cagliari (Italy) and Kyungpook National University (South Korea). His research spans cognitive science, multimodal creativity, augmented cognition, human–agent interaction, social robotics, and user experience, employing behavioral studies, eye-tracking, EEG, and fMRI methods.

He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, with over 460 citations (h-index 13, i10-index 20), and has received recognition such as the Best Paper Award at the AEARU Conference (2015) and a Gold Medal in Philosophy from the University of Hyderabad. Dr. Ojha has successfully led several government-funded projects in cognitive science, Indian knowledge systems, and socio-cultural studies, securing significant research grants, including one to establish a Center for Cognitive Science at IIT Jammu.

Fluent in English, Hindi, and Sanskrit (with basic Italian), he continues to mentor graduate and doctoral students while advancing interdisciplinary research at the intersection of cognition, culture, and technology.
