I am trained as a sociologist/social anthropologist who works on issues of environment and development in the Indian sub-continent particularly, on the Sundarbans coastal region. has published works in journals and edited volumes and published book Living with Disasters: Communities and Development in the Indian Sundarbans with Cambridge University Press in 2016.
Kolkata
I am born in Kolkata, the Indian metropolis, and brought up being exposed to metropolitan life and had my schooling in Kolkata. And later had my higher education from/in three places i.e. Kolkata, Delhi and London. Has been a commonwealth awardee and an alumnus of Association of Commonwealth Universities in the UK. Has also been a recipient of Radcliffe Brown award (Sutasoma award for writing up) by Royal Anthropological Institute, UK while being a PhD candidate in the UK.
