I am Dr. S.C. Andrew Michael, Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology at Loyola College of Social Sciences, Thiruvananthapuram. I pursued Sociology in both under graduation and post-graduation, and secured first rank with gold medals. I recently completed my PhD in 2024 at Madras Institute of Development Studies (MIDS), University of Madras, where I established a strong record of independent research and inter-discipline orientation. This enabled me to publish extensively in both national and UGC CARE-listed journals on various social issues such as rural development, migration, occupational identity, gender studies, healthcare perceptions, and social policies for transgenders and the marginalized. To my credits, I have carried out many national and international funded research projects as Co-Investigator and Project Directors. I also have the experience of working as Research Associate for Prof. Adam Zeikfield, USA and Ms. Victory, USA who did their research in India. My work combines originality with methodological clarity and demonstrates potential as a promising early-career researcher. I also have good oral and written communication skills, enabling me to present complex ideas with clarity by simplifying it and to engage effectively with diverse audiences.

I mainly work on social research in Rural Development, Employment schemes, Welfare policy, Social Inclusion and Exclusion, Marginalised Communities, Migration and Gender Studies, and Tribal Studies.
