Dr. Aritra Ghosh is an Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Sociology, Serampore Girls’ College, Hooghly, West Bengal. He has 14 years’ experience in Teaching and Research. He also worked as a UGC Project Fellow (2012-2014) and ICSSR Research Associate (2014-2016) in the Department of Sociology, University of Kalyani. Aritra has presented more than 32 papers in various National and International level seminars, webinars and workshops. He has been the author of more than 38 articles which appeared in many National, International peer reviewed Journals and in edited books. He has edited four books and Co-author of the book entitled ‘Introduction to Sociology-II (in Bengali) in his own credit. He is a member of various professional bodies such as Indian Sociological Society, RC 27-Sociology of Care and Sanskriti – North Eastern Institute of Cultural Research (NEICR). His fields of interest are Research Methodology, Tribal Studies, Gender Studies, Women Empowerment, Mother and Motherhood, Sociology of Care, Population Studies, Rural-Urban Studies, and Cultural Studies.
