Naveen Isarapu is a PhD student in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Ashoka University. His research is situated at the intersection of environmental history, nature-based solutions and socio-environmental justice, especially in the context of reducing emissions and adapting to the impacts of climate change.
Prior to his doctoral studies, he worked as a researcher at Foundation for Ecological Security for five years, where he worked on projects in the states of Odisha and Meghalaya. His invaluable experiences working on Commons, land tenure, community-led resource management, and institutional building shaped his research around local stewardship of natural resources. He holds an MA in Public Policy & Governance, and a BA in Social Sciences, from Tata Institute of Social Sciences.
