Nisha Jolly Nelson, Ph.D. (Kerala University), UGC Postdoctoral fellow at the University of Delhi, currently serves as the Head of the Department of Sociology at Loyola College of Social Sciences in Thiruvananthapuram. She is the recipient of Prof. P.K.B. Nayar Gold Medal and the Dr. A. Aiyyapan Gold Medal for outstanding excellence in her field within the University. In recognition of her scholarly contributions, Dr. Nelson was honored with the Prof. John Kattakayam Young Sociologist Award by the Kerala Sociological Society in 2017. She has contributed to the field through her role as an editor for a book: “Health and Well-being: The Tribal Perspective” (2019) and, coeditor of “Ageing, Care, and Well-being: Reinventing Social Gerontology(2021) along with Palackal.
