Dr G Pitchaimani is Associate Professor in Sociology at the Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (DU), Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. He received his Ph.D (Sociology). from Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. He has an undergraduate degree in Physiotherapy and Master of Science in Medical Sociology. Before joining SRIHER, he was worked as a Physiotherapist and Social Worker at The Leprosy Mission Hospital, Purulia and The Leprosy Mission Hospital, Kolkata in the State of West Bengal, India. He has been involved in several research studies. As an author and co-author, he has published widely on clinical and social research in leprosy in leading peer reviewed international journal. Till now he has published 57 articles. Out of 57 articles, 48 articles indexed in WoS/Scopus/Pubmed.  Also, he was invited as reviewer and he has reviewed articles from the journals of Leprosy Review, The Lancet, PLOS One, BMC Health Service Research, BMC Infectious Disease, Scientific Reports, Health Psychology and Behavioral Medicine, Disability CBR & Inclusive, Journal of Poverty and Social Justice, Patients Preference and Adherence, Sri Ramachandra Journal of Health Sciences, Journal of Multidisciplinary Healthcare, and Journal of Rhipaha college of Rehabilitation Sciences.
