Shameem Ahamad is a student of sociology and researcher from Bandipora, Jammu and Kashmir. He holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Kashmir, where his doctoral research titled “The Interface between Faith and Capital: A Study of Muslims’ Marital and Procreational Preferences in Kashmir” explored the evolving dynamics of family, religion, and socio-economic change. Shameem has published extensively in reputed academic journals including Oxford University Press, SAGE, and Emerald.

His academic interests include social stratification, Health, gender studies, affirmative action, and the sociology of education. Shameem has also conducted field-based research on marginalization, patriarchy among rural Kashmiri women, and the impact of socio-economic reforms on marginalized communities. He has qualified UGC-NET with Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and the State Eligibility Test (SET), and brings over a year of teaching experience in higher education.

Shameem actively engages in academic discourse and has presented papers at national and international conferences. He is committed to using sociological insights to promote equity, social justice, and inclusive development.
