Assistant Professor (W.B.E.S) | Ph.D | Sociologist | Researcher in Sociology of Religion, Medical Sociology & Gerontology Currently serving as an Assistant Professor (West Bengal Educational Services – Group A Gazetted Officer) in the Department of Sociology at Jhargram Raj College (Girls’ Wing), I am deeply committed to academia and research. I’ve completed my Ph.D. in Sociology from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. My work focuses on the intersections of faith, healthcare, and aging. Academically, I have been privileged to rank Sixth in Graduation from Calcutta University and secure the First Class First (Gold Medalist) position in my Master’s in Sociology from Jadavpur University. Additionally, I qualified UGC NET-JRF (Sociology) in June 2015, marking a strong foundation for my academic journey. Beyond teaching, I have actively contributed to scholarly discourse by participating in various international and national seminars and conferences. I have also served as an Honorary Guest Lecturer in Sociology and Women’s Studies at Lady Brabourne College and taught Sociology in the Faculty of Engineering at Jadavpur University. My role as a Content Developer for E-PG Pathshala (UGC-MHRD initiative) at the Centre for the Study of Religion and Society, Jadavpur University, further underscores my engagement in curriculum development and academic content creation. Before entering higher education, I gained valuable experience as an Assistant Teacher in Sociology (2014-2015) at Loreto Day School, Sealdah. With a keen research focus on Sociology of Religion, Medical Sociology, and Gerontology, I strive to contribute meaningful insights into the evolving socio-religious dimensions of health and well-being.
