Dr. Akriti Bhatia is an Assistant Professor at the Centre for the Study of Social Systems (Sociology), School of Social Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. Trained in Economics and Sociology, she holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from the Delhi School of Economics, a Master’s degree in Sociology from JNU, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi. Her research intersects economic sociology, political economy, labour studies, urban sociology and policy studies. She has also taught Sociology at Miranda House College, Delhi University and is the founder of PAIGAM (People’s Association in Grassroots Action and Movements), a platform dedicated to action-oriented and policy-engaged social research.
