Deepali Aparajita Dungdung is an Assistant Professor at the University Department of Sociology, Ranchi University. She has previously taught in the School of Global Affairs, Ambedkar University Delhi and Centre for Quantitative Economics and Data Science, BIT Mesra. She has a Ph.D. in Sociology from the Centre for the Study of Social Systems, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Her areas of interest include women, labour, care, ethnicity, indigenous peoples, and development. She has been teaching in the state of Jharkhand in India, primarily dominated by students from indigenous and other marginalized communities, allowing her to share subaltern perspectives from the Global South. She is also the co-founder of Doing Sociology, an independent women-led academic platform aimed at making Sociology and social sciences at large accessible to students in India and creating a repository, and archive of scholarly works in recent decades.
