Dr. J Balamurugan (b-1985) is currently working as an Assistant Professor of Sociology, Department of Social Sciences, School of Social Sciences and Languages, Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore – 632014, Tamil Nadu. He holds M.A., M.Phil., and Ph.D. degree from Department of Sociology, Pondicherry University, Puducherry. He has taught at PSG College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore. He specializes in Social Gerontology, Sociology of Health, Community Development, Media and Society. He has participated and presented a number of research papers in both National and International conferences and published a number of research articles in reputed journals, edited books and conference proceeding in National and International forums.
