I am an Assistant Professor. I teach Sociology at Government General Degree College Chapra, West Bengal. Apart from teaching I have been doing research in the area of social gerontology, family relations, empathy and care. Based on my research I have published 18 articles in national and international journals. My monograph ‘Life of the Middleclass Aged in Kolkata’ has been published in 2019 by Kalpaz Publications, NewDelhi. I have received the prestigious Prof. Nirendra Chandra Choudhury Young Scholar Award in recognition of my research in the field of Social Gerontology from the Indian Anthropological Society in 2019. I have recently started working with ARDSI (Alzheimer’s and Related Disorders Society of India), Calcutta Chapter and doing research on dementia caregivers’ life.
